Integrated Strength and Performance
Coach (ISPC) Certification Overview

Building Blocks to Your Success

The Integrated Strength and Performance Coach (ISPC) certification raises the bar in fitness education. The fitness industry is saturated with certifications, yet few provide a truly comprehensive, evidence-based education that bridges health and human performance science with practical application for diverse populations. Many coaches complete entry-level personal training or sport-specific certifications, only to discover gaps when working with athletes, tactical personnel, older adults, youth, or clinical populations.

The Integrated Strength and Performance Coach (ISPC) certification course was created to fill these gaps. This course not only deepens your understanding of functional anatomy, applied physiology, and biomechanics, but also equips you with the skills to integrate that knowledge into performance and health-focused programming across a wide range of athletes; whether you are coaching a competitive sprinter, guiding a firefighter through return-to-duty training, improving an older adult’s functional strength, or building a youth athlete’s foundation, you’ll learn to design and implement programs grounded in current scientific evidence.

The ISPC course officially launches July 1, 2026. Here’s how AIHP is different.

All Science, No Bias

We work with top experts to create accurate science/evidence-based course content with no biased methodologies. We present science-based content comprehensively, clearly and concisely so that strength coaches can apply this information on an individual basis to the population they work with.

A ‘No Money Grab’ CEU Policy

We strongly believe in continuing education, but we don’t believe you should have to pay for it. Until now, most continuing education policies of existing fitness organization are little more than a money grab. We don’t believe this is the correct method. Our policy is to offer an option to recertify at no fee, while still educating yourself.

No Tiers, No Upselling

We don’t believe in upselling or hard selling. Within the ISPC certification, we include many topics/areas that other certification companies charge extra for. Same goes for what you get when you sign up. We don’t have tiers of bundles to purchase. We have one option that includes everything that we think you will need to be successful in your studies.

Our Customer Service Will Blow Your Mind

Regardless of how great our content is, without superior customer service to back it up, it means nothing. Emails responded to within 12 hours (but likely much sooner!)? Check. Friendly and helpful AIHP team? Check.

We understand that if you want to make a career out of fitness, you need the appropriate tools. Our ISPC Certification is designed to fully prepare you for your career in fitness and strength coaching. We even cover fitness business development and job skills.

Our Story

AIHP was founded by Rick Prince, a 20+ year veteran of the fitness industry. During his time in the fitness industry, Rick worked at some of the most prestigious commercial and corporate fitness facilities in NYC, in a wide range of roles including, but not limited to personal trainer, fitness manager and general manager.

During his time in the fitness industry, Rick gained a robust knowledge of the fitness education landscape which motivated him to develop AIHP due to his belief that he could create a better fitness certification and moreover, a better fitness education company.

Prior to starting AIHP, Rick founded and scaled United Endurance Sports Coaching Academy (UESCA)

This isn’t our first rodeo. AIHP is built on proven principles from practical experience in fitness education. UESCA became the global leader in endurance sports education. The lessons Rick learned from starting and growing UESCA taught him what the most important aspects of running an education company should be:

Comprehensive, science/evidence-based content

We’re interested in fully preparing coaches to safely train athletes and get results.

Real-world application

Easy to understand, easy to apply.

Develop an interactive community

of students and coaches.

Free recertification option

because continuing education is important and we’re not interested in money-grab policies.

Fast, friendly communication

and a stellar team to make sure you’re fully taken care of quickly.

No hard selling, No Upselling

This looks like: no harassing customers. And there’s no upselling because it’s already included.

And most importantly, no matter what… maintain professional integrity and superior customer service at all times.

To bring AIHP to life, Rick brought on top talent across the areas of content creation, operations and customer service to ensure that our certification and support were second to none. At AIHP, we practice a customer-centric business model – meaning, the satisfaction of the customer is and will always be our north star.

Educating. Supporting. Informing.

All Inclusive

At AIHP, we understand and appreciate that the so-called ‘specializations’ that other organizations charge extra for, should be included in the content of the certification. The truth is, as a coach, you have no idea who will is in need of your services and we do not believe that you should have to pay extra to learn these ‘specializations.’ That is not to say that AIHP will not offer future courses into specific areas, however these courses will be very deep dives into areas already covered in the ISPC certification.

A Free Pathway to Recertification

Really? Yes… Really! Ask any trainer or coach, the bane of their existence is likely paying to recertify. Whether it be paying a fee, and/or acquiring a bunch of continuing education units. At AIHP we view the traditional recertification process as little more than a money grab. While we at AIHP fully appreciate the importance of continuing education, we do not believe that charging for this is the right method.

Real World Application

While we believe that our science/evidence-based certification content is second to none, we also appreciate that it has to be applicable to real-world scenarios. As such, throughout the certification, we demonstrate how to apply the content in practical applications and also discuss various workplace settings so that you know what to expect on the job.

Experience

Our content is created based on what a trainer needs to know from our team’s collective 50 + years of real-world experience in the fitness field. As former personal trainers and fitness/general managers in the NYC fitness industry, we understand what employers are looking for and more importantly, what training and education fitness professionals need to be successful.

Yes, the ISPC Certification Course is available online and can be taken from any country.

The ISPC certification course is not accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). After thoroughly vetting the NCCA accreditation and their parent company, the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE), AIHP made the decision that the NCCA accreditation is not the correct fit for our certification. The primary reason is because the NCCA accreditation does not evaluate certification course content, but rather solely the testing process. While AIHP agrees that the testing process must be held to a high standard, we also believe that without evaluating the actual course content, any accreditation is substantially lacking.
Not seeking accreditation by the NCCA does not equate to AIHP disregarding the importance of accreditation by a third-party organization. In fact, this is quite the opposite. As such, AIHP is currently reviewing pertinent accreditation organizations that rigorously assess/evaluate both course content and the testing process.

AIHP requires recertification every 2 years and can be done for free by submitting a science-based paper on a fitness related topic. Other recertification options include continuing education units, other AIHP courses, or a recertification exam.

No, AIHP does not require proof of CPR/AED or First Aid to purchase or take the ISPC certification. We understand that most other certification organizations have this requirement. However, we do not believe that it is the place of a certifying organization to dictate whether or not its students are CPR/AED/First Aid certified or not. We believe that this is the domain of the individual and/or hiring company and based on the intended working environment, as the industry shifts significantly more toward remote and online coaching and training rather than in-person.
To be clear, if an individual is working in-person with an athlete/client, they must be CPR/AED certified.
